How is the mattress shipped when you buy from a Retail store?

Accepted Answer

Most Retailers stock Nectar mattresses for immediate delivery or picked up at the store location. Since our mattresses come in a box, you can easily take your mattress home the same day. If the Retailer does not have your mattress in stock, they receive regular shipments of new ones, or we can ship it directly to your home from our warehouses.

All the foams we’ve used to create the Nectar Mattress meet CertiPUR-US® standards for content, emissions, and durability, and are analyzed by independent, accredited laboratories. Nectar’s foams are  free of ozone depleters, TCEP flame retardants, mercury, lead, heavy metals, formaldehyde, phthalates. Our foams have also shown low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality.

Can I clean Nectar’s Cover?

For spills and light accidents, we recommend spot cleaning the cover as soon as the spill or stain occurs with a damp cloth and mild detergent or hand soap, taking care not to let liquid reach the underlying foam layers.

We don't advise removing the mattress cover as this will void the warranty and as the underlying foam layers may get damaged in the process. Keeping the cover on will help protect the integrity of the mattress so that you may enjoy amazing sleep for years to come.

We strongly recommend the use of a stain and water-resistant mattress protector (such as the ones we have available for purchase on our site), which may be removed and laundered from time to time.

How firm is the Nectar mattress?

Nectar is medium firm and highly supportive. We’d rate the Nectar at a 6.5 on a 1-10 scale, if 1 is a feather pillow and 10 is a cement floor. Nectar is designed for perfect long term support with contouring, responsive comfort.

Will Nectar smell or “Off-Gas” when opened?

Nectar foams are of exceptional quality and off-gassing is usually limited or nonexistent. If there is any faint opening smell of fresh foam, this will dissipate quickly and is from new foams being vacuum packed and not from any chemicals.

In the unlikely event your mattress shows signs of compression or impression, no need to worry since Nectar’s Forever Warranty™ has you covered! If a verified impression of 1.5 inches or more is found on your Nectar mattress, we will either repair or replace your Nectar for free! How thick should a mattress be?

A good mattress should be around 11 to 15 inches thick. Depending on the combination of foams, coils, latex, and covers, mattresses will vary in height. The thickness can affect how plush and supportive your mattress feels, and we here at Nectar have found that the ideal thickness for our mattress is 12 inches to achieve ideal comfort, softness, and support. We’ve used multiple layers of premium foams to build the most comfortable mattress imaginable. We found that a great mattress should be at least 11 inches thick, with luxury mattresses usually being  around 15 inches.

Can I use my Nectar mattress on any type of bed frame?

We recommend any foundation, base, or adjustable frame that we sell or a similar product. We do not recommend placing your mattress on the floor, plastic base, or any homemade foundation.

Can I sleep on my mattress right away?

You'll see that your Nectar mattress will expand dramatically as soon as you remove it from its packaging. Sleeping on your mattress right away will not harm your mattress. Please note it can take up to 72 hours to fully expand.

Once you've unpacked your new Nectar mattress, please be aware that it may take between 24-72 hours to fully expand to its intended size. However, feel free to enjoy your new mattress as soon as you want this will not have any adverse effects on its performance.

Nectar weights range from 60lbs (Classic Twin) to 146lbs (Luxe Hybrid King). Nectar may be slightly heavier than other direct to consumer mattresses, but it is built with better, heavier and more durable materials and we think that this is the right way to construct a mattress.

White Glove Delivery includes the removal of your existing mattress. An additional state mandated fee will be added for orders shipping to California, Rhode Island, or Connecticut. These states have specific laws for recycling regardless of whether or not White Glove Delivery is included. Please note that removal of your existing items is at the discretion of the service provider, and may not be available in some areas due to safety restrictions.

Yes we do! We ship our products to Hawaii and Alaska every day. While you need enough space, the most important consideration for your rest is sleeping on a comfortable and supportive mattress. Most couples choose to have a King or California King sized bed based on preference for more space for each person. However, since space can be limited, the next most favorable bed size for couples is a Queen. Anything smaller than a Queen size is going to be a tight squeeze for two, and you will feel each other moving around at night. A King size Nectar memory foam mattress reduces motion transfer significantly and provides ample space, so you'll get a great night’s sleep even when sharing your bed with partners and/or pets.

Is a Full sized bed big enough for two people?

A Full size (or double) bed is not typically comfortable for two people to sleep in. A Full sized bed is ideal for a child and a parent reading a bedtime story, or a person and their pet – but not two adults who need room to move around at night or have different sleeping positions. For two adults, a Full size only gives you 27" of space each, which is likely not enough for most people to rest comfortably throughout the night.

What is the biggest size of a bed?

That depends. If measuring by cubic feet, a King mattress is the largest bed that Nectar offers, at 42.2ft³. A California King mattress from Nectar comes in at 42ft³.

However, a King mattress is 80in(L) x 76"(W) x 12"(H) whereas a California King is 84in(L) x 72in(W) x 12in(H). The California King mattress is 4 inches narrower and four inches longer than a King mattress, so it depends on the shape and size of your room.

Will two Twin beds placed next to each other be the same size as a King bed?

It's a popular myth however, two regular Twin beds do NOT equal a King bed. In fact, two Twin XL beds equal a King size and can be a good option for someone using two beds in a guest room that they can also push together if the need arises. Two regular Twin mattress are the same width as a King, but shorter in length by 5 inches.

Can you put a Queen mattress on a Full frame?

No, you can not use a Queen mattress on a Full frame as it will not fit properly. A Queen is larger than a Full, so you'll need a Queen size frame for your Queen mattress. It’s best to always match up your mattress, frame, and sheet sizes for the most comfortable night’s rest.

What size sheets should I buy for two Twin mattresses pushed together?

For two Twin beds pushed together, you are going to be hard pressed to find sheets that fit.  A standard Twin bed is 38 inches wide and 75 inches long; a standard King bed is 76 inches wide and 80 inches long. However, two Twin XL beds pushed together is about the same size as a King bed and you could get away with King size sheets.

The average bed height is usually about 25 inches in total, including the frame, mattress, and any additional toppers or bedding. This is so your feet can reach the floor when you’re seated on the edge of the mattress. You can find a higher antique bed at about 36 inches off the floor, or a more contemporary modern platform bed which is lower at around 18 inches. While it is personal preference, you'll want to be able to get in and out of bed with ease.
